Strategic Project Management
Many discussions about project management overlook the significance of the crucial early choices that shape the project execution approach. Decisions such as employing Agile or Waterfall methodologies, or choosing between prefabrication and on-site assembly, may not alter the expected project output, but they can greatly affect the delivery process and the project’s likely success. There’s no…

Little P.Eng. Engineering For CIPP Liner Design As Per ASTM F1216 Using Finite Element Method
In the realm of civil engineering, the rehabilitation of pipelines is a critical task that ensures the longevity and safety of underground infrastructure. One of the most innovative and efficient methods for pipeline rehabilitation is Cured-in-Place Pipe (CIPP) lining. This technique not only offers a less intrusive alternative to traditional pipeline repair but also significantly reduces the environmental impact and cost associated with excavation. Little P.Eng. Engineering, a pioneering firm in the engineering consultancy landscape, has taken strides in optimizing CIPP liner design to comply with ASTM F1216 standards through the application of the Finite Element Method (FEM).
Understanding ASTM F1216 and its Significance
ASTM F1216 is a standard that outlines the procedures for rehabilitating existing pipelines using the CIPP method. This standard is critical as it provides guidelines for the design, installation, and testing of CIPP liners, ensuring that rehabilitated pipelines meet specific safety and performance criteria. Compliance with ASTM F1216 is essential for any project involving CIPP lining, as it not only guarantees the structural integrity of the rehabilitated pipeline but also its longevity.
Little P.Eng. Engineering's Approach to CIPP Liner Design
Little P.Eng. Engineering has embraced the challenges of CIPP liner design by leveraging the Finite Element Method (FEM), a sophisticated computational technique that simulates how materials behave under various conditions. FEM allows engineers to model the complex interactions between the CIPP liner and the host pipe, taking into account factors such as material properties, external loads, and environmental conditions. By using FEM, Little P.Eng. Engineering can predict the performance of CIPP liners with high accuracy, ensuring that designs are not only compliant with ASTM F1216 but also optimized for durability and efficiency.
The Role of Finite Element Method in Ensuring Compliance and Optimization
The Finite Element Method plays a pivotal role in Little P.Eng. Engineering's design process by providing a detailed analysis of stress distribution, deformation, and potential failure points within the CIPP liner. This detailed analysis is crucial for two main reasons:
Compliance with ASTM F1216: FEM analysis helps ensure that the designed CIPP liner can withstand the intended service life under varying conditions, as stipulated by ASTM F1216. This includes assessing the liner's ability to handle internal pressures, ground movement, and other environmental factors without compromising its structural integrity.
Optimization of Design: Beyond compliance, FEM enables Little P.Eng. Engineering to optimize the thickness, material composition, and installation parameters of CIPP liners. This optimization not only reduces material costs but also minimizes the risk of over-engineering, ensuring that resources are used efficiently without sacrificing performance.
Case Studies and Success Stories
Conclusion
The innovative approach of Little P.Eng. Engineering to CIPP liner design, grounded in the rigorous application of the Finite Element Method and adherence to ASTM F1216 standards, represents a significant advancement in pipeline rehabilitation technology. This method not only ensures the structural integrity and longevity of CIPP liners but also exemplifies how engineering innovation can lead to more sustainable and cost-effective infrastructure solutions. As the demand for efficient and environmentally friendly rehabilitation methods grows, the work of Little P.Eng. Engineering in this field is set to become increasingly important, paving the way for future advancements in civil engineering practices.

there is something so. intensely frustrating about feeling incapable of showing up for people the way that they want you to
#i wish people understood that it's so hard to be present in their lives and that closeness for me isnt about frequency of contact#but how open we feel during that contact#my brain is such a difficult place to live in it is so loud and so busy all the time#24 hours a day is a constant monologue and argument with myself for everything and it means that i just dont have the capacity to talk to#others most of the time#and like. i know this is so unreasonable. obviously we have to be present in the lives of people that care for us#but it just feels like every day i have to like. get on a stage and perform to every person in my life that cares about me so i can meet the#criteria of being a Good Friend or Good Girlfriend or Good Fan Artist or Good Mutual or Good Server Member#i feel like it is such a blessing to be seen by others as someone to expect things from#but as more people have started to love me it feels like i have to 'go out and perform' more and more and i am very exhausted#i wish i was someone that was easy to love and care for in the way that i am. and i dont mean that self deprecatingly it's just#i know im very hard to care about and love. because i disappear all the time and come back in a big flurry as soon as i get the energy back#and im just feeling it a Lot More lately because im starting to think this isnt going to be a short term thing i have to do before i start#feeling comfortable with a person#this is going to be my whole life#if i get married im going to have to 'go out and perform' and be a good wife and be affectionate and happy and not closed into my own brain#for days#if im going to make friends with colleagues I'll have to go out when they invite me and have to reply ro their texts and i cant just go#silent for weeks while i try to negotiate with my thoughts and then reappear once i make the slightest breakthrough#im very tired and sad. i want companionship but i feel like the kind of person i am is not fair for people who would be my companion#vent post#♡alizeh talks♡

Submission to the DNI Hall of Shame:
Found in the DNI of someone who added me to a "Blocklist". "Woodworkers" has to be the most off the wall thing I've ever seen in someone's DNI. These are the people who think they have enough influence in society to control a single other human being.

About to reblog some cute art until I see the artist put an uglyass eye-straining DNI banner right under their drawing.
Doesn’t matter how much I initially liked the art, those DNI banners make me lose all interest.
Not only are they distracting and useless but it also makes me roll my eyes especially hard when I read shit like “usual dni criteria” or “dni racists! dni transphobes!”.
Friend, do you know how many racists and transphobes don’t realize they’re racist and/or transphobic in the first place? People won’t look at your banner and go “aw shucks, I’m too racist for this drawing :(“. And how is “usual dni criteria” any more efficient??
Like, you want to go for a performative Twittercore aesthetic? At that point just use a blocklist or smth, those are more efficient than your eyestrain sparkly banner.
Same with people who write their DNIs in light pastel tones against a white background. Trying to read that shit hurts.

been perusing the tags for a bit. why are you people so concerned about whether a ship is toxic or not. this is a show targeted towards 6-11 year olds starring five year olds it is truly not that serious
#they fight each other because they are tiny babies barely out of toddler age with superpowers and no adult supervision#that’s it. that’s the entirety of it. the endless fighting about traits these characters would probably age out of anyway is very silly#i also don’t think people understand how like. revealing of their general lack of experience some of these takes are#i feel like some people’s criteria for a potentially toxic relationship is just Two people with scrappy personalities existing together#it’s hard for me to put into words just how absurd it is that people care about this at all#the boys don’t appear in nearly enough episodes to be able to perform irredeemable acts at the age of five#bubble journal

very clear that im not the target demographic for most survival shows bc i will always prefer a bright funky stage over a powerful dark one
#i feel like thats obvious based on the groups i stan though#for me tempest's and younite's performances were in the top 3 for sure#i get that making a lasting impression is important in these kinds of shows but i really just want to feel something from a performance#thats the only criteria i have#and brighter stages are typically the only ones that do that for me#very big thank you to younite and tempest for taking the risk and giving me two very lovely stages!!#we will be streaming#rtk2

im gonna be honest i think some of you should actually consider gatekeeping more. sometimes gates have keepers for a reason.
#anime life#sorry i saw the 'you don't have to listen to goth music to be goth' posts and it sapped my life force#but i AM enjoying thinking about applying this attitude to other subcultures#you dont have to do drag or enjoy watching drag performances to be a drag queen. you dont have to like ICP to be a juggalo#saying someone should like jimmy buffets music if they want to call themself a parrothead is gatekeeping (bad)#im so sorry i know it feels bad to be told that you actually dont meet the criteria for something but also. cmon.#words MEAN things#if you dont have to listen to goth music and you dont have to dress goth to be goth. then im goth????#i dress like a business clown and i only listen to the mountain goats. am i goth now.

waiting for godot is such a gorgeous play in of itself, but when you consider that estragon and vladimir are totally fucking it becomes so much better.
life was hopeless and death is inevitable, so they found solace in one another- the only people around. young and naive, they were probably barely adults. if the one other person sitting there, endlessly waiting with you is the only person who can even pretend to understand how you feel, you stick with them. no matter how miserable they are together, it's better than being miserable alone. their love for one another is real, but so is their resentment and their tire. they want nothing more than to care for the other, but the same codependent cycles their in grow on their waning bodies.
they're the only thing to stop each other from offing themselves, carried by the hope of whoever is inspired enough to proudly proclaim 'another day.' they want to die to get away from each other, but if they're away from each other, what will they do? their lives have been centered around two things, and they won't have to wait when they're dead. how can you possibly go on without the one thing tethering you to some semblance of sanity? how can you go on without that same person who wants to drag you down into nothingness?
they never got the opportunity to find someone who mattered to them, so they made do with who they could. and look where that got them; aimlessly codependent and unable to live but also unable to die. to estragon, it's all vladimir's fault. to vladimir, it's all estragon's fault. but to estragon, vladimir is a stable figure in the world that changes as it repeats. to vladimir, estragon is something to focus his energy onto.
they're the only thing that could possibly matter to each other, and they want nothing more than to get away from each other.
#samuel beckett is probably rolling in his grave at the old men yaoi but i do not care#their relationship is at the heart of this play; it's what makes it meaningful yk#i'm doing this for a drama assessment and i wanted to make them like this in my performance but it won't meet the criteria it's so sad </3#waiting for godot#estragon#vladimir#HE CALLS HIM DIDI#HE CALLS HIM GOGO#HOW DO PEOPLE NOT UNDERSTAND WHERE I'M COMING FROM#estramir#vladimir/estragon#this is canon to me

The friendship harem has started up some good old analog correspondence, so I fell down a fountain pen rabbithole and splurged on some new materials. Did I choose a very expensive ink purely because it was glass green and named Cinderella’s Slipper? Absolutely.
In the meantime, I dug out a very old, inexpensive dried up pen that I have no idea where it even came from. Took it apart and tossed the nib and cartridge into a bottle full of water to dissolve the old ink.
Something about this image of my dimly lit desk covered in art supplies and papers and random junk, with a bottle of bright blue water smack in the middle of it is immensely pleasing?? No idea why.
Anyway, perhaps I will pick up a bottle of less expensive, more versatile blue-black ink tomorrow so I can put my cheap pen to use while I wait for my nice pen to arrive.
#the ink cost more than the pen#well. sort of.#the pen is the aesthetically prettier version of a less expensive model. literally the same except for the finish#so the cheaper version of the pen costs less than the ink#but it’s still on the lower end of fountain pen nonsense tbh#the prices on these things gets. astronomical#but it’s an investment of sorts#fewer disposable plastic-bodied pens#i won’t ever have to replace it if i take good care of it#if you are also intrigued by fountain pens then jetpens.com is a wonderful place to start#their guides are so thorough and informative and less daunting than the fountain pen forums#and all of their listings having samples of how the pen/ink/paper performs#the stat breakdowns are so detailed#you can filter by sooo many criteria#it’s like. ao3 for penmanship nerds

head in my hands hal 9000 is not a robot... he's an artificial intelligence...
#if you really want brevity computer is also accurate i guess#you could concievably make an argument that due to controlling all the systems of the discovery and by some interpretations *being* the ship#he fulfills such robot criteria as performing complex automated tasks#however he was designed for neither one specific task nor fully automatic/remote controlled operation#(being a GENERAL artificial intelligence)#and thus is not a robot#also robots are associated with a degree of mobility whether a robot 'dog' or an assembly line arm#and the mobility offered by the discovery's propulsion has little versatility and can only affect the ship as a whole#umm if anyone else comes up with reasons hal could be considered a robot (by the merriam webster definition which i am using)#or if you have an alternate definition of robot you think is novel#i would be thrilled to engage with you#but for now i remain firm#2001 aso#aso#2001 a space odyssey

Submission to the DNI Hall of Shame:
I swear this reads like a thinly veiled satire blog, because of the bizarre "I grew up in a religious household, please point out any behavior so I can fix it" message in conjunction with their "I ship correctly" anti bullshit. This blog is the literal definition of purity culture. But it's so hard to tell if this person is being serious or just going for absurdity.

Anyway re: the dumb flurry over the co-gymnast of the week and people getting offended about the “that other girl” quip:
#i dont agree with people splitting hairs over the significance of a stupid conference weekly honor being shared#or the ones rattling off like a dozen extremely minor things and made up criteria to undermine suni’s performance#i mean u all know I’m not a Suni fan but suggesting she’s untalented or less than bryant is objectively wrong lol

I’m so glad they finally released the full cam (without reactions) for Round 2.
Group B and Group C were both phenomenal!! Here’s my interpretation of why I think C won (and it being justified):
When comparing the two groups, I think C was just overall solid. I’d argue that both teams were dancing in the pocket, but C’s members were more equal in terms of skill. C’s synhronization was also impressive. One of the judges (I don’t remember who but I think Gikwang?? or Kyuhyun??) mentioned how the ppl not in the center held their own with a strong performance too. I think B had a couple group moments where the gap in skills became apparent (some of the members hidden in the back).
Next is props & story. It seemed like some of the judges weren’t too big on props, but I just thought that was personal taste. For B, I think they could’ve gone without the story. Like what was the point of the book? And then the ending with Junseo waking back up/ coming back alive?? also could’ve gone without it. I think if they were going the story route, the story should’ve been clearer. Were they students taking a break from studying and wanting some excitement? Were they just rebellious teens? Was it a sleepover? Did they go to sleep or die at the end? Tbh, I think this song & the idea of 1 person “surviving” at the end would’ve been better executed if the plot was about a heist. That or just go no story at all.
Clothes honestly play a factor, granted I don’t think the contestants have much input. C’s clothes were very uniform, streamlined, and simple. It was very easy to appreciate their dance lines & the sync. B’s clothes, while literally school uniforms, had more variety. The outfits were also baggy, which I don’t know how to explain, but that exposed more when it came to the varying skills in hip hop choreo.
Finally, keep in mind that the scores were really close AND varied a lot. It wasn’t that every judge had B & C as either 1st or 2nd. Two of the judges (Moonbyul & Gikwang) gave D a higher score than B. The point difference between B & D was literally 1. This all just goes to show how impressive ALL of the performances were. It was seriously that tight.
#the tldr is that i totally get if someone thinks B should’ve won but don’t say C’s win was unjustified#the excuse of it being a ‘typical sexy kpop choreo’ is tiresome (even if true)#it’s about the execution!!#I didn’t go into much detail about that for C because I’ve seen enough others do so#also honestly wouldn’t put it past the judges if they were trying to spread out the benefits…BUT#they seemed just as surprised as us with the results - which I think was genuine#another thing to take with a grain of salt#while all the judges are pros in the field I only consider 3 (maybe 4) as experts in dance#and this is a kpop survival show not SMF#so I think they judged based on overall performance/execution rather than difficulty#it was also unclear what each judge’s criteria was cuz I don’t think they shared w/ us a rubric (I could be wrong)#like did some judges take improvement into consideration?#were there higher expectations for certain teams?#idk — all I know is that the teams were great & im hella excited for the attention jongup’s getting#me#jt#just thoughts#jtbc peaktime#I hate the spacing on mobile
